Summer Camps + NIL = perfect fit
And why athletes should take part

With summer quickly approaching, student-athletes should be building their brand (and of course, enjoying some downtime after a long academic and athletic year).
In addition, a great opportunity for student-athletes to maximize their NIL: Take part in summer camps.
Whether a student-athlete hosts a camp or helps with a teammate’s camp, this is a great way to leverage their brand (and potentially earn some money for their efforts).
Take Drake Maye’s camp (above) from last summer.
The one-day camp was for football players ages 6-18. Registration was $150, with campers receiving autographs and taking pictures with Maye, receiving a camp t-shirt, going through position group training, and participating in a 7v7 tournament.
Why summer camps?
Prime NIL opportunity for athletes
Relatively speaking, this is one of the best opportunities for college athletes to maximize their name, image and likeness.
This is a good way for the athletes to give back to the community, and for the attendees to meet their favorite players.
Companies such as US Sports Camps help with the logistics of operating camps - making the process more efficient for college athletes, while removing one of the major hurdles of hosting a camp.
Don’t need to be a big name to host a camp
When attending camps, younger athletes are there to get better and generally not to be starstruck with their favorite players. Therefore, if a college athlete is worried no one will know them: It’s not a concern.
Bonus tip: Host a camp in your hometown, where you are more recognized.
Additionally, this can work for any sport. Tennis, soccer, lacrosse, etc. are all great candidates for youth camps.
