NIL valuations soar for Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese

Coming off a national championship game that garnered just shy of 10 million viewers, star players Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese of Iowa and LSU, respectively, have seen their NIL valuations soar following the conclusion of the women’s Final Four.

Clark’s On3 NIL Valuation is now up to $739,000, a $547,000 increase since last week. Reese’s valuation is now at $876,000, a $485,000 jump in the last week.

Clark has deals with brands such as Bose, Goldman Sachs and Nike (which includes custom merchandise), while Reese has partnered with JanSport, TIAA and Amazon, among other brands.

The Verdict:

• Both women were ready for their moment; although they both earned numerous NIL deals over the past year, they are primed to capitalize in an even bigger way - perhaps as soon as this week.

• Both players have one more season of college eligibility (and possibly two seasons for Reese), so there’s a strong possibility we will hear more about their NIL deals over the next year.

• Now is a good opportunity for both of them to cash in on the shoe market.

  • With Clark already having a partnership with Nike for custom merchandise, perhaps a CC22 shoe will hit the market soon.

  • Reese could also score big with her own shoe - and perhaps an even bigger deal off the court. (Think Jordan Brand, NOBULL, etc.)
