Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will host his first NIL event, “An Evening with Quinn Ewers,” on July 22.

Tickets start at $38 for children, with adult tickets available for $284. VIP group tickets are available for four attendees and cost $2,300. Every attendee will receive a signed jersey, and fans who can’t attend can purchase an autographed jersey, which they’ll receive via mail, for $210.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Merging Vets and Players, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded by FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer & former U.S. Army Green Beret and former NFL and Texas long snapper Nate Boyer. The mission of the organization is, “By merging vets and players, we create an environment where these warriors can share each other’s strength and experience, and can support each other in building fulfilling lives of service and strength.”

Ewers has a $1.1 million NIL valuation, according to On3, and has completed NIL deals with several companies, including Sonic, Epic Games and Metabilia.

The Verdict:

  • Good way for fans and boosters to meet a star player

    • More athletes should be doing this, whether it’s a private event like this, or a public meet and greet outing (similar to Spencer Rattler hosting an autograph session at a local minor league baseball game recently)

    • This also seems like a great venue for Ewers to not only secure more potential NIL deals, but build longterm relationships past his playing days.

  • High price point but for a good cause

    • Paying nearly $300 to meet a college athlete might be steep, but knowing some of the money will support military veterans and players is noble - and something that attendees purchasing tickets can get behind

      • Also, fans purchasing signed jerseys only for $210 is a good way for the organization to earn some revenue from non-attendees, and for Ewers to earn some additional cash.

    • It makes me think that the high ticket prices are intentional in order to keep the attendance manageable and to attract a specific audience.

  • Double dipping his NIL (in a good way)

    • Earlier in the day, Ewers will host a youth football camp before heading over to the meet and greet in the evening.

      • Maximizing two events in one day is a smart move for Ewers - and hopefully this is something that will be documented (videos for social media, etc.)
