Today’s Case
LSU's Hailey Van Lith leads Adidas Exhibit SELECT campaign, designed for women's basketball

The LSU guard, who transferred from Louisville earlier this year and has a pre-existing partnership with adidas, is front and center of the company’s marketing efforts for their Exhibit SELECT sneaker - engineered to the specifications of women’s feet and the demands of women’s basketball.
The Exhibit SELECT campaign began this past Wednesday, with Van Lith being the only college basketball player involved in the marketing initiative. She will be featured in promotions next to WNBA stars Candace Parker, Kahleah Copper, Erica Wheeler, Aliyah Boston, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike.
Van Lith: “I’m excited to wear a product that really provides the support and confidence boost I need to dominate on the court."
The shoe will be on sale for the public on August 1.
The Verdict:
Despite being at a Nike school (LSU), adidas deciding to not only keep Van Lith on the roster, but feature her in a campaign is huge
Van Lith has proven herself worthy to adidas by building a large following off the court. Despite the fact she cannot wear her adidas shoe during any LSU games or practices, nor inside LSU athletic facilities, this is a testament to the value she brings to the company.
Interestingly enough, Van Lith isn’t the only player on her team with a separate footwear/apparel deal, as Flau’jae Johnson signed an NIL deal with Puma last year.
Growing NIL portfolio for Van Lith - and will skyrocket now that she’s at LSU
With her strong social media following, Van Lith also has NIL partnerships with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Valentino, Overtime and Billionaire Girls Club.
By transferring to Baton Rouge, she will no doubt be able to capitalize on more NIL deals (and perhaps more lucrative ones as well) during her time at LSU).
This could be the start of an NIL movement for women-specific footwear
Moolah Kicks is a shoe company that designs basketball footwear specifically for women. Wouldn’t be surprised if they enter the NIL game soon. (They could also tie-in their merchandise line for potential NIL deals.)
