Today’s Case
UCF's Kingdom NIL collective to hold 'day in the life' camp with John Rhys Plumlee

Plumlee, a two-sport athlete (quarterback and centerfielder) for UCF, had a busy spring, which included playing in a Golden Knights baseball game in April, then sprinting over for the UCF spring football game.
Next month, kids will be able to relive the day, as the UCF-focused collective Kingdom NIL has partnered with Plumlee to host an “A Day in the Life” camp, where youth can be coached in both baseball and football. Additionally, Plumlee’s camp will bring football and baseball players into the camp, allowing his teammates to profit from the event.
Summer camps have traditionally been a staple for college programs across the country. It’s a way to put some extra cash in support staff’s pockets, as well as connect with the fanbase in the offseason and build goodwill. Furthermore, UCF head coach Gus Malzahn opted to cancel youth camps last summer so athletes could earn the profits from hosting their own camps thanks in part to NIL.
The Verdict:
Not many athletes can execute a camp like this, so props for Kingdom NIL and Plumlee bringing this to life.
Having a “fantasy camp” of sorts for both young football and baseball players is unique, and can be a big hit if executed properly.
This video of the transition of Plumlee going from his baseball game to the spring football game went viral - and it would be cool if attendees were able to simulate this during the camp.
Making sure ‘everyone eats’ is very classy of Plumlee
Having both his football and baseball teammates as part of the camp is a great gesture from Plumlee, as well as giving the campers opportunities to meet multiple players from both teams.
Hosting future joint camps for multiple sports can be a win-win in terms of NIL
Athletes from both sports get paid while also giving back to the community and building relationships with young players.
This can be for multiple sports (ie., football-baseball, soccer-tennis, etc.) or one sport for all athletes (ie., men’s and women’s golf, basketball, etc.)
Additional advantages from NIL besides money
NIL provides numerous benefits in addition to generating financial support. Check out this tweet for more!
